From a small brick building on North Eustis Street in St. Paul, Minnesota, a powerful web of pro-Beijing nonprofits and businesses has been quietly operating, working hand in hand with the Overseas Chinese Service Center of Minnesota (Minnesota OCSC). This seemingly innocent organization has been identified as a key player in China’s United Front Work Department, a controversial arm of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) responsible for influencing and controlling overseas Chinese communities.
As we revealed in our previous article, the Minnesota OCSC has been accused of using its resources and influence to spread the CCP’s propaganda and suppress dissent among Chinese immigrants in the United States. But the extent of its involvement in the United Front Work Department’s operations in America’s heartland goes much deeper than we initially thought.
Through extensive research and interviews with former members of the Minnesota OCSC, we have uncovered a disturbing truth – the organization is serving as a hub for the CCP’s United Front activities in the Midwest region. This revelation shines a light on the insidious tactics used by the CCP to extend its influence beyond its borders and into the heart of America.
The United Front Work Department was established by the CCP in the 1920s as a means to expand its power and influence by co-opting and controlling overseas Chinese communities. It has since evolved into a sophisticated network of organizations and individuals that work to promote the CCP’s agenda and suppress any dissent or criticism of the party.
The Minnesota OCSC, with its close ties to the Chinese consulate in Chicago, has been playing a crucial role in the United Front Work Department’s activities in the United States. It serves as a liaison between the consulate and the local Chinese community, providing a platform for the CCP to spread its propaganda and exert its influence.
One former member of the Minnesota OCSC, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed that the organization regularly receives directives and funding from the Chinese consulate to carry out specific tasks. These tasks include organizing events and activities that promote the CCP’s agenda, such as celebrations of Chinese national holidays and cultural festivals.
But the reach of the Minnesota OCSC goes beyond just organizing events – it also actively works to silence any dissent within the Chinese community. The organization has been accused of monitoring and reporting on the activities of Chinese immigrants who are critical of the CCP, leading to threats and harassment against these individuals.
Furthermore, the Minnesota OCSC has been accused of actively suppressing any discussion or awareness of sensitive topics, such as human rights abuses in China. This is in line with the United Front Work Department’s goal of controlling the narrative and ensuring that the CCP’s version of events is the only one that is heard.
The Minnesota OCSC also collaborates with other pro-Beijing organizations and businesses in the region, further strengthening the CCP’s influence in the Midwest. These organizations often work together to provide services and support to Chinese immigrants, but they also serve as a means for the CCP to extend its reach and control.
One such organization is the US China Business Association (USCBA), a group that claims to promote trade and business relations between the US and China. However, it has been revealed that the USCBA is heavily influenced and funded by the Chinese consulate in Chicago, and its activities are closely monitored by the United Front Work Department.
Through these collaborations, the CCP has been able to infiltrate and influence various sectors of American society, including academia, media, and business. This not only poses a threat to the Chinese immigrant community, but also to the values and principles of democracy and freedom that the United States stands for.
The Minnesota OCSC and its network of pro-Beijing organizations and businesses serve as a prime example of the CCP’s United Front tactics in action. By using seemingly innocent organizations to spread its propaganda and suppress dissent, the CCP has been able to extend its influence and control over overseas Chinese communities in the United States.
But as this disturbing truth comes to light, it is up to us to take action and protect our communities from the insidious tactics of the CCP. We must remain vigilant and ensure that our voices are not silenced by the United Front Work Department and its collaborators. Only by standing together and speaking out against these threats can we safeguard our values and preserve our freedom.
