IV Dialogue on Energy Security Between Angola and the United States
On June 13, the IV Dialogue on Energy Security took place between Angola and the United States at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The meeting aimed to discuss initiatives to support energy security in Angola, focusing on energy production and access to electricity.
João Baptista Borges, the Minister of Energy and Water, led the Angolan delegation, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Geoffrey Pyatt, the Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) focused on issues related to the stable and reliable supply of energy and the improvement of commercial relationships in this sector.
The talks between João Baptista Borges and Geoffrey Pyatt centered on ensuring a secure and consistent energy supply, strengthening trade relations in this field, and discussing various aspects of energy security.
Also present at the meeting were José Barroso, the Secretary of State for Petroleum in Angola; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; and representatives from ANPG.
