As a New York City commuter, I am always on the lookout for the perfect handbag. I am not the type to carry a small clutch and be ready for a day of adventures, from the office to dinner to cocktails. For me, my work bag is like a car trunk – the more space, the better. So, when I came across Coach’s recent oversize bag offerings, particularly the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag ($695), I was immediately drawn to it.
But it’s not just about functionality. When I saw it on the runway, I recognized the design inspiration right away – it reminded me of my grandma’s coin purse. It turns out that Coach’s muse for this bag was the vintage Cashin Carry, a 1969 handbag created by Bonnie Cashin, the brand’s first lead designer. While I also have my eye on the teddy bear and dinosaur styles, the kisslock frame bag feels especially fun and versatile with its bold and neutral color options.
However, I’ll admit that I had my reservations about this bag. On the runway, models carried it hoisted under their arms, looking cool and effortless. But let’s be real – I need my hands free for my phone, wallet, emotional support water bottle, lip oil, supplements, coffee, and whatever else I may need throughout the day. A hands-free option is a must for me. Fortunately, Coach thought of that and more.

What I Love About the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag
This bag is incredibly spacious in the best way possible. In fact, after the fashion show, I switched to flats and needed a tote to carry my knee-high boots. To my surprise, they fit perfectly inside the Frame bag – that’s how roomy it is.
Additionally, the bag comes with a strap, so if you don’t feel like carrying it under your arm, you have another option for hands-free wear.

Things to Take Note of About the Coach Large Kisslock Frame Bag
The bag features an inside zip pocket, so you won’t have to dig deep to find your wallet. But if you prefer even more organization and easy access to your smaller items, I highly recommend investing in a handbag organizer ($7, originally $10) that you can throw inside.
